An intention-setting wall calendar based on the Jewish year.
Lunar Cultivation creates an opportunity to reconnect with your intentions, with nature, and with yourself - all based around the Jewish calendar. This calendar marries the traditional Jewish calendar and with an intention-setting practice, allowing you to bring the old and new together. Each page features information about that month, the holidays, a suggested practice, and space to set your unique intention for the month ahead.
Following the cycle of the moon and harnessing the power of the new moon to begin each new month, the lunar calendar is an ancient way to keep time that tethers us to nature. For thousands of years, it’s shown to be a powerful tool to reset and revisit goals.
In the Jewish tradition, each month begins with Rosh Chodesh - a holiday to celebrate the new moon traditionally associated with women. This calendar creates an opportunity to create your own Rosh Chodesh celebration through intention-setting.
The lunar calendar is used by many cultures across the world, and the new moon is used by many religious and non-religious groups alike as an opportunity and reset for the lunar cycle ahead. Using this calendar provides an opportunity to learn more about the Jewish calendar and integrate it with mindfulness.
To keep this calendar accessible to all, there are two choices to purchase - having a high-quality, printed calendar shipped to you, or purchasing a printable PDF.
The story behind Lunar Cultivation:
I’m Anna Beyerle, the person behind Anchored Creative Studio. I’m a huge mindfulness junkie, and am always looking to learn about new ways to set intentions and goals. After reading about ancient cultures seeing the new moon as nature’s way of offering a blank slate to start anew, I started creating a monthly intention-setting ceremony on the date of the new moon. It was a ritual that felt good to me, and felt in tune with the rhythms of my routine.
After sharing this ritual with my husband, he introduced me to Rosh Chodesh. In the Jewish tradition, this minor holiday occurs every new moon, and is often considered a women’s holiday (holla, ladies!). It made so much sense to me that this ancient tradition of honoring the new moon repeats itself in so many cultures and religions, and persists in new moon circles and intention-setting today. For me, this has been a unique and fun way to pair learning about Judaism and mindfulness together.

Calendar notes:
This calendar is based around the North American and northern hemisphere calendar, and dates reflect that.
Calendar note: All Jewish days begin on sundown. This can be confusing for someone just getting used to this type of calendar, since we are used to a day beginning and ending at midnight. For simplicity’s sake, this calendar marks the Gregorian date equivalent to a Jewish date as the second day, since the majority of the Jewish day occurs during that time. For example, 1 Nisan is marked as April 6, 2019 - although the day actually begins at sundown on April 5 and concludes at sundown on April 6. Keep this in mind when planning events and holidays.
This calendar is primarily organized by the Jewish dates, with Gregorian dates mainly included for everyday reference. Holidays and important dates should be associated with their Jewish date.
I mainly sourced information for the calendar portion from Hebcal and Chabad.org, as well as through traditional calendar creation. However, there were a few minor date discrepancies. In these cases, I followed what felt the best and what made the most sense with the number of days typically included in each calendar month.
