Made for Women is a podcast exploring the history of male-dominated systems in America, and how they can be made more accessible to women.
Welcome to Made for Women: a podcast hosted by Anna Beyerle reimagining how we can create structures in America that support women.
In a world that was created for men, by men, we explore how the workplace, parenting, and gendered institutions can be recreated with women in mind. We explore both the history of these systems, and interview badass women who are defining their own way of doing things.
ICYMI, pretty much everything in the world is made for men. We are rethinking how things would look if they were made for women, by women.
*waves hello* I'm Anna Beyerle, and I'm an entrepreneur. While building my business, I found myself consistently frustrated by the traditional way things were done by a lot of business owners. I found traditional ways of marketing and networking exhausting, and thought there had to be a better way. While venting to a male friend one day, he very straightforwardly said, "well, yeah. The workplace wasn't made for women."
This moment changed everything. I came to the slow realization that pretty much every structure we use on a day to day basis - the concept of an office, the 9-5 workday, partnered gender norms, unpaid labor of parenting and at-home tasks - were created by men. Women have simply adapted to them.
No wonder these structures don't work for us.
This podcast will explore this history of these structures, and interview women who are bucking the trend and rethinking their structures.
Podcast launching October 2020.
